The Finnish Limnological Society is a scientific association for people
operating in the fields of limnology and environmental protection aiming to preservation and management of aquatic systems. The society's goals are to foster finnish limnological research, as well as to provide up-to-date information and a discussion forum for the experts in this field. SLY is a national representative of Finland in the International Association of Theoretical and Applied Limnology (SIL).
